The Federalist Papers ar a collection of eighty five essays indite by crowd together Madison, Alexander Hamilton, and John Jay (also known as Publius), between October 1787 and May 1788. They were written at the time to change over New York State to ratify the U.S. governing body.
They are perhaps the nearly famous newspaper columns ever written, and today form wholeness of the most important documents of Americas founding period. They provide the justification for the Constitution and label some of the most important political issues associated with favorite self-importance political relation. Publius addresses three interrelated topics in the papers which are benignant nature, institutional remedies for ills stemming from man nature, and interests or factions. This paper give discuss all three topics as well as argue either for or against these topics.
Publius was concerned about the kind between popular government and human nature. They were well advised that human beings have the tendency to pursue short-term self interests in order to gain long term benefits. In Federalist Paper #51, James Madison argued that government must be based upon a realistic view of human nature.
He exclaims:
But what is government itself but the greatest of all reflections on human nature? If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place oblige it to control itself.
This quotation from James Madison helps to best explain Publius view on human nature. Publius agreed that there were both good and bad sides to human nature.
