The Death of Socrates

The origin of the story could be found in Plat. Theag. on page 128d. This painting is a depiction of the execution that would debate place if the Greek people felt like their ship canal were being questioned. For the Greek people there was already a known itinerary of emotional state to follow. Theses beliefs and methods were not to be questioned nor interfered with. Since Socrates had a different mentality ab bulge counsellings of thinking he was looked at as a questioner of religion that did not go well with the Greek people. He spread his way of thinking to the young children so they could begin think that way too. In the picture there are his loved ones approximately him because he is about to drink the poison, which is shown, in the painting. This is the hemlock and entrust kill him instantly. He was bumpn the choice to either give up his beliefs or expire he choose to blend in with what he believed in, that was his beliefs.



As he sits up strong he is pointing up showing a sign of dedication. He reaches out for the hemlock as his loved ones around him weeping to his last sentence. In the content of the story this is him giving up his life for something that he believes in and not letting other people make his decisions on what his beliefs will be. He is to rather die with pride than live a frail life.
