Personal statement

Personal statement is not only an admission requirement into reputable colleges but its application has gone out of the educational circles into the industries. Unlike the past years when personal statement was required of any high school before he or she is offered an admission into a college of choice, the industries and other employers in the hotel industry have followed suit.

Before any new applicant is considered for a recruitment to serve as a full time employee, he or will be required to write a personal statement which takes the form of an essay. In the personal statement, the potential employee will be expected to explain why he or she is interested in the company, his industrial strengths and professional qualifications.

More than often, an applicant may be accepted or rejected depending on the strength of the personal statement. This explains why personal statement has gained reputation in the outside world more than just mere essays in colleges and institutions of learning. Essay is seen in the light of academic. Nevertheless, some colleges still insist on essay so as to indoctrinate desirable writing skills in their students. Indeed, research has shown that learners who stand out in essay write perfect personal statement.

As a result, many colleges are placing much significance of personal statement more than essays. Professors incorporate more of personal statement writing besides essay writing to ensure that their students succeed in their future lives. According to the revelation of an educational survey conducted in United States, more students prioritize personal statement than essay because they perceive the former as a direct route to success. All students should therefore practice essay writing.
