Ondoy’s Experience
At first, it was nevertheless below my knees, and then it reached my hips. The pissing flooded the street. It broke our front window. It was so high that it entered the strand floor of our house. Fortunately, we have saved lots of things and we stayed on the second floor. I peered at those commonwealth outside through our window. I noticed that there were still realityy people move in the streets with the pouring rain and flood. I could see the hardship from their faces. But some of them, especially the children, enjoyed the water as if they had an flashing swimming pool. I even saw a man washing his hair with a shampoo as if he was bathing with a giant shower. And then I comprehend the sound of our television. My auntie turned it on and switched to the news. I was blow out of the water to see the great flood. People were on the roof. Some move into’t even have a roof and were vindicatory holding onto something in order to survive. Many have incapacitated their homes. But the most painful thing was they’ve not just lost their possessions. They’ve lost the lives of their loved ones, and they could never bring them back.
If I would be listing all the things I’ve learned from this experience, I think, it would take a thousand words, considering the fact that I was not that directly and greatly affected by the typhoon. Yes, I could be considered lucky for I did not lose any of my possessions or any of my loved ones. But still, I look at these people who have had a great encounter with Ondoy as fortunate for experiencing and being in the very heart of this sad experience. I believe that amidst the darkness, there is the light. These people might saw Jesus there, calming the storm. Or have watched Him saving people from drowning and even, looked at Him as He lent His hands to those who couldn’t swim.
