Director Julie Taymor set the play in an anachronistic vision world that hires locations, costumes and imagery from many periods of history, including Ancient Rome and likewise Italy. This gives the impression of a Roman Empire that survived into the modern era. Its one of the major components of the study. Chiron and Demetrius dress like modern stone stars, but the Andronici dress like Roman soldiers. Some characters use chariots, some use cars and motorcycles. Also the weapons argon from different times. at that place are Crossbows and swords as well as rifles and pistols. Tanks are as well as seen driven by roman soldiers. Bottled beer is seen alongside ancient bottles of wine, microphones are used to address characters in ancient clothing. This mix seems to express the timelessness of the violence on show in the film.
She opens the film with a bizarre sequence showing a upstart boy playing with action figures, carminely bashing them together and atomizer ketchup all over them to simulate blood.



The movie captures the ritualistic, violent atmosphere of the play very well. This boy from the present could be the young Lucius, Titus son. He finds himself transported to the fantastical reality of the film. His toy soldiers sour into Titus Roman army. They even move like action figures in their triumphal march.
