When tested with 2 static confederates only 1 of 10 or 10% reported the smoke at all while 90% move to ignore the smoke because no one else in the room seemed to think it was a problem. Testing with 3 niave subjects, with 24 people in this grouping only 1 person reported the smoke within 4 minutes and only 3 people reporting the smoke at all.
After the real(a) test was conducted they had a follow up interview. Now this is interesting, everyone who failed to report the smoke was somehow sure that it was not a fire, and in no way a danger to them.
