ChildrenS Commercials: Racist And Biased?

When you were younger, have you ever dreamt of being in a TV commercial? Have you ever gotten jealous at the sly and happy looking children that were in those commercials? I know I have. I would get jealous all the time as I watched a chain reactor of commercials that advertised children around my ripen playing with all sorts of toys and stuffed animals that I wanted. I would ask myself how make I could not be that cute little male child playing with a cool Power Ranger fulfil figure? I realized now that these commercials argonnt that distinguishable from before. A majority of the commercials I watched consisted of mostly white people. As I thought back to those days I watched Saturday morning cartoons, there were hardly any non-white people in the commercials. The agreement why minorities usually do not have pornographic roles or are not even included in most commercials is because many commercials are racially prejudiced and biased.
As I watched a handful of childrens shows, cartoons, and some puerile shows, Ive watched about 5-6 commercials after every segment of a show. I watched shows like Blues Clues, Spongebob Squarepants, Jimmy Neutron, and Drake and razz just to see how the commercials in between them would be. Since most of these commercials are directed to the youth, not all commercials are prejudiced and biased.




When I was watching these commercials, I paid close attention to a number of things to identify the prejudice and bias in them. I did not write down any notes of how these commercials were, but I took a mental note and observed them. I sometimes rewound it and played it again to re-examine how the commercial was like.
As I watched some of these commercials recently, Ive noticed that not a lot has changed from the past commercials. Most commercials still have the same showcase of people advertising their product, white, blonde haired, and good looking. This is where the prejudice comes in.
